Explore Western Nebraska is us — a small, stubborn, camera-carrying crew based in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, with a bad habit of taking the long way around.

What started with broader storytelling has now sharpened into a focused travel guide for western and central Nebraska. Explore Western Nebraska is built around the places, people, history, backroads, landmarks, and remote destinations that make this region worth seeing — assuming the wind does not blow the map out of your hands first.

We are dedicated to informing and inspiring travelers through authentic photography, practical travel guides, short documentaries, field notes, and stories that highlight the Nebraska Panhandle, the High Plains, the Sandhills, the North Platte River Valley, and the small towns and historic sites scattered between them.

We are based in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, a small city near the Wyoming border in the heart of the Nebraska Panhandle. We may not be a giant travel company or a polished tourism machine, and frankly, that is probably for the best. Our focus is simple: document the places we visit, explain why they matter, and help travelers discover the real western and central Nebraska beyond the interstate signs.
